Monday – 27th October
We enjoyed the ferry over to Devonport – particularly the sunset as we left Melbourne & the good feeling on board – everyone was having a great time on the deck with Chardonnay or beer in hand and the occasional cigar.
I don’t think either of us slept much, but what the heck we are on holiday.
As I mentioned we were woken at 5:45 & I looked out our port hole (paid extra for that!) to Launceston rain.
It took about 90 minutes to get through quarantine & we lost our potatoes and an onion or two (Jen forgot about them, so we had to wind up the trailer & disclose our vegetable loot.
A nice drive to Launceston in the rain & we spend a couple of hours looking around the town – found a nice bakery/cafe – Banjo’s.
Then off to a caravan park near the Northern part of the Tamar river – ‘Beauty Point Caravan Park’
Which is where we are tonight. The rain has mostly cleared, but very windy.
A pair of Masked Lapwings are right next to our site with 3 young chicks – they got most upset when I tried to take a photo.

We are staying here for another day as we need time to rest up after all the travel.
All for now – Dave & Jen
